So it is true, you can breakthrough the other side and get higher at least in projects results and productivity, as Allan Scherr communicates in this very interesting article called Managing for breakthroughs in productivity<\/a> which I found grace to a post in Scott Berkun<\/a> blog. The idea is simple: breakthrough projects (i.e. totally exceptional projects in terms of results and productivity) are possible provided that you are willing to totally commit and accept a high level of risk. The author does a wonderful job in describing his approach and providing examples to sustain the article statement. In order to obtain an exceptional\/breakthrough project you need first to ensure that the project is setup to fail\/breakdown when viewed through the perspective of the common (business as usual) understanding! Only from crisis and failure great things can be born – it is so human and poetic that won me instantly :). I suspect though there should be also a dark side of this and Allan mentions only that you need to accept the higher risk and “occasional failures” but he is not offering any information about this aspect (maybe he did not want to spoil the general impression).
